Abstract

Abstract Optical transmission measurements on a- Se 1− x Bi x films were performed in spectral range from 550 to 2500 nm. A drastic decrease of the TAUC- gap, E 04- gap and of the slopes of the TAUC- plots B 1 2 was obtained above a Bismuth concentration of 0.2 at%, i.e. the Bismuth incorporation caused a decrease of the optical gap and a flattening of the tail states. It is assumed that strong distortions within the chain like structure of a-Se films appear with increased bonding between Se and Bi.
