Academic vocabulary which appears in various fields of learning and thinking and logic development process is the basic word for improvement of cognitive academic language proficiency. It's necessary to know the academic vocabulary in order to read text book, thesis, article and write logical sentence and take part in logical discuss. For example, there are '정의(definition), 이론(theory), 증거(proof), 분류하다(classify), 구별하다(discriminate)' and so on. Academic vocabulary hasn't been discuss well in the vocabulary education, so there hasn't been systematic education. This study which established the educational state of the academic vocabulary based on the discussion about the definition of the academic vocabulary and the educational usefulness tried to make educational alternative through the choice of the academic vocabulary for the education and the analysis of the academic vocabulary. Academic vocabulary is not learned well without direct teaching, but if academic vocabulary is learned it is effective to increase educational efficiency. This study build up corpus of 3,634,809 words related to the humanities, the social science, the natural science, the engineering science and the art, choosing 1,404 academic vocabulary for the education. Those words mainly consist of a word written in Chinese characters and make a feature of 'formality, elaborateness, acknowledgement, general object, neutral value' and so on. There are many words related to the thinking skill such as ‘classify, compare’ Academic vocabulary is operated to the systematic basis of the leaning act in the academic text and can be used as the word related to the execution, object, organization. The words related to the execution take a role to let us know what the researcher did in academic text, for example there are '비교하다(compare), 제시하다(present)' and so on. The word related to the object let us know what the object of research is handled, for example there are '정의(definition), 개념(conception)' and so on. The words related to the organization take part in the generation of the connecting to the word, sentence, paragraph. There are '전자(the former), 후자(the latter)' and so on. Academic vocabulary is used as the intermediation to connect contents in the academic text. The main story of the academic text is the technical contents of related study field centralized to the technical terms, but academic vocabulary is basic frame which proceed to sustain and support the contents. Academic vocabulary is a kind of link, connecting the flow of the thinking. The detailed using aspect of the each academic vocabulary in academic text is summarized as the 'elaborateness, function, indirectness, specific thing' , academic vocabulary tend to be used for the rightness of the delicate meaning in the academic text, on the other hand that is used to increase the formality, reveal indirect interpretation and evaluation regardless of meaning of the each word, and the preferred academic vocabulary depends on learning fields. The current status of the academic vocabulary education is researched with three aspects of the curriculum and textbook, the process of the teaching, the student's lexical competence. Academic vocabulary is not educated well. Academic vocabulary is not reflected well in the curriculum and textbook. Korean teacher teaches the word only focused on reading ability for the university entrance examination. Students spend much time to study the technical term, and don't know exactly the conception of the academic word, generally they are too passive and uninterested in the vocabulary. In order to solve the problem, this paper suggests 'the design of the curriculum and textbook with reflection of the academic vocabulary's special thing, the raise of the vocabulary awareness of the teacher and student and the bringing up of the active student, the reinforcement of the elaborateness of the conception'
