Abstract

Abstract It is shown that in an ideal crystal of arbitrary dimensionality self-trapping particles is possible as well as their bonding even at weak interaction. It is shown, that in three-dimensional lattices delocalized and strong localized (self-trapped) states may coexist at any strength of the electron-phonon interaction.
