Abstract

The Ss were exposed to a list of 10 trigram-word pairs under conditions in which pairing order, test order, both or neither were constant throughout training and the pairing order was the same as (or differed from) the test order. Performance during training was facilitated only when the test order was the same as the pairing order and both remained constant throughout training; however, no between-treatment differences were observed in the number of pairs learned.
