Abstract

Summary. — After participating in the quarrel over the thing in itself and having kept the idea of the noumenon only as a regulative (limiting) idea, Maïmon returned to Leibniz's metaphysics, including the foundations of the infinitesimal calculus, out of which came a reconciliation of the idea of the noumenon and the idea of the differential as a scientific basis for perceptible qualities.
