Abstract

Summary 1. There is a great need for a simple formula for infants. 2. The simple mixture of equal parts of evaporated milk and water was used from the second day of life in fifty-six consecutive premature and 700 full-term infants with good results. 3. The premature infants fed this simple formula regained their birthweight earlier and were discharged from the hospital earlier than those in a comparable series.
