Abstract

To improve the performance of plasma-DeNOx catalyst, a research on active system was performed experimentally. Two hydrocarbons, propane and diesel, were used as reductant in this study. First, using propane, basic performance of plasma-DeNOx catalyst such as plasma effect, C/N ratio effect was measured at the various engine operating conditions. Second, as the fundamental research of diesel reductant, diesel spray in a high temperature flow condition was visualized using CCD camera. Moreover, to determine optimal installation of injector, THC concentrations at the inlet of plasma were compared for 6 installation methods of diesel injector. From the results, injector was installed toward downstream direction below the pipe, and then basic performance of plasma-DeNOx catalyst with various injection quantities was investigated. * Note: The text above is the abstract of the thesis.
