  • Biology

The Protein Mutant Database (PMD) is a compilation of published protein mutant data, providing information about amino acid mutations at specific positions of proteins and in some cases the structural alterations caused by them. The PMD covers natural as well as artificial mutants, including random and site-directed ones, for all proteins except members of the globin and immunoglobulin families. The database is searchable by keyword or sequence. Produced and made available on the Web by the Center for Information Biology and the DNA Data Bank of Japan, National Institute of Genetics, Japan.
