ABSTRACT The aim of the research was to acknowledge of knowledge, parity, employment status, breastfeeding couseling, breast care, early initiation of breastfeeding and husbands support on the exlusive breastfeeding. The research was conducted in the work region of Mongolato Community Health center. Telaga District, Gorontalo city in 2013. The research design was a cross sectional , by interviewing 193 breastfeeding mothers as respondents. Sampel analyzed with chi-square test, continued with logistic regression. The result of the research indicated that knowledge (p = 0.006), parity (p = 0.006 employment status (p=0,002), breastfeeding counseling(p=0,013),breast care (p=0,042), early initiation of breastfeeding (p = 0.019) and husband support (p = 0.000), were significantly associated with exclusive breastfeeding.Conclusion, Husband support , knowledge and parity were determinants of exclusive breastfeeding.
