Background: Corticosteroid preparations continue to be developed, many modifications and new synthesis of these preparations so that when this is not a new drug corticosteroid again. Dexamethasone is an example of synthetic glucocorticoid drug class with job postings. Stomatch epithelial experienced continuous irritation by two destroyers factors, namely destroying the endogenous and the destroyer of exogenous. The aim of this research is to prove that the level of stomatch mucosal damage in the group given dexamethasone greater than the control group, to prove that giving a higher dose of dexamethasone resulted in levels of stomatch mucosal damage is greater and prove that there is a relationship between dose of dexamethasone rise to the level of stomatch mucosal damage Methods: The experimental research design is the post test only control group design. The sample of 20 male wistar rats were divided into four groups randomly. K is the control group, were given only food and beverage standards. P1 group were given dexamethasone orally with sonde 0.018 mg / day, P2 0.731 mg / day and P3 1.444 mg / day. Wistar rats after 30 days terminated and the hull is taken to make preparations. Preparations then read under a microscope to view the stomatch mucosal levels damage of five field of view by using the Barthel score Spoiled integrity Results: The mean of damage stomatch mucosal is the biggest group P3. Damage that happened in P1, P2, P3 are desquamation epithelium, epithelial erosion and ulceration of epithelial surfaces. ANOVA test showed significant difference (p = 0.0001). Post hoc tests showed significant differences in the K-P1 (p = 0.036), K-P2 (p = 0.0001), K-P3 (p = 0.0001), P1-P2 (p = 0.0001), P1 -P3 (p = 0.0001) and P2-P3(p=0.036). Conclusion: The difference in levels of stomatch mucosal damage in the group given dexamethasone than in control group. Differences in levels of stomatch mucosal damage also occurred between treatment groups, group P3 greater than P2 groups and group P2 greater than P1 group. In group mean P3 epithelial damage in the form of ulceration, erosion group P2 form surface epithelium and epithelial desquamation group P1 form. This shows there is a relationship between increasing doses of dexamethasone on the level of damage to stomatch mucosa of Wistar rats. Keywords: dexamethasone, stomatch mucosal damage.
