Publisher Summary Deployment- and management-related concerns, in practice, will circumscribe all the real-world operational issues that are currently being faced by those who are trying to use or offer production-grade Web services for enterprise-level applications. The real problem here is that the dynamics surrounding Web services have been dramatically undermined by circumstances outside the scope of Web-services technology and industry. This chapter discusses the real dangers with the Web services and the scenarios that pertain to rogue Web services. There are people who have stopped opening regular mail and others who have stopped using e-mail. In addition to the dangerous rogue Web-services scenarios, there is also the ever-present concern that information exchanged with a remote Web service, over the Web, can be intercepted or diverted during transmission.
