Abstract

The article, referring to the researchers of Shakespeare, names structural and substantive features of his comedies of the 1590-s: natural characters, love story organized by event, carnival atmosphere, a humorous tinge. It is shown that all these features are characteristic for Russian comedy The Irony of Fate by E. Braginsky and E. Ryazanov, and the most important are characteristic for comedies by A. Vampilov, A. Arbuzov etc. Shakespeare`s comedy declared itself as developing genre.
