Abstract

Abstract The impedance spectra of (Na +-K +)-β′'/β-Al 2O 3 ceramics have been measured between -100°C and 300°C. The total conductivity of the ceramics can be described in terms of conductivity of the β″- and β-Al 2O 3 grains and their boundaries. The ionic conduction mechanism in the mixed-alkali/mixed-phase β″/β-alumina electrolytes is discussed.
