In my bachelor thesis we simulated laboratory experiment on a prefabricated wooden-glass frame structural element (in short we will name it the panel) fabricated by Kager Hiše d.o.o. The experiment was carried out at the Faculty of Civil Engineering in the University of Maribor. Simulation was conducted with non-linear finite element method on a computer programme Abaqus. We used 3D finite elements for solids. The purpose was to find out the appropriate type of elements and the type of mesh needed to successfully analyse the panel. Special consideration was made on the type of material model that would be suitable as an adhesive between wooden frame and a glass pane. Abaqus library of material models offers a number of material models for hyper elastic materials. We chose nearly incompressible material model Arruda-Boyce. On the end we tried to model the supports and the load of the real model. We compared the results of our analysis with the experiment.
