Abstract

Abstract The binding energy spectra of the second bound state of a D − center quantum dot system in a magnetic field have been calculated as a function of the strength of magnetic fields and the dot radius by using the method of hyperspherical coordinates. In the case of L=1 and S=1, our calculation predicts the existence of a second bound state of D − centers in quantum dots. The dependence of the binding energy of the second bound state of D − centers on the strength of magnetic field and the dot radius. We find that the appearance of the second bound state of D − center quantum dots is strongly dependent on the dot size and the strength of magnetic field.
