Abstract

Abstract Axial experiment at low temperature (AXEL) aims at a five-order improvement over previous experiments in the search for spin-coupling interactions in the range 1–100 mm. In this experiment, we propose to use multiple-element paramagnetic sensors coupled to DC SQUIDs to detect the interactions from the spin-coupling sources. For a total sensor volume of 10 −3 m 3 , the sensitivity limited by thermodynamic magnetization fluctuation can be five-order better than the best sensitivity of present experiments.
