Marie Martin Badda and her husband Frank Badda relaxing at home, circa 1950's. Frank Badda was boss at the N.W.I. Co. company offices, but at home he was husband, father and grandfather. He and his wife Marie Martin (an Anglicized version of Marcincak) were children of Croatian immigrants who moved to Roslyn in the early 1900s. Frank began working in the mines in 1919 when he was 16 years old. Six years later he was promoted to Assistant Engineer and that same year married Marie in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cle Elum. Schuchman, Frank. Personal interview. 24 April 2012.
