Abstract

Abstract This article introduces a new superplastic precision forming process used to manufacture turbine disc with axial blades, the distance between which is 1.8 mm, and the minimum thickness of which is 0.3 mm. This paper describes how to select the deforming condition properly and to control them during the deforming period. The metal treatment, forming equipment, die design, lubricants, heating device and die materials are also described. As a result, the material utilization is doubled, the productivity is increased 150 times and coat is reduced to 10%. It is not only a practical and effective forming process, but also has a reference value to other Ti-alloy components.
