Abstract

Abstract The observation is reported of a nuclear magnetic ordered state of the proton spins in Ca(OH) 2 at negative spin temperature. Evidence for the ordering is the behaviour of χ⊥ at high initial polarization where a plateau is reached. Results are presented together with curves derived from 1st and 3rd order high-temperature approximations in the paramagnetic state and a Weiss-field approximation in the ordered state.
