Using statistical methods this thesis compares the development of client numbers and the numbers of current accounts in the two largest banks in the country, i.e. in Česká spořitelna a.s. and Komerční banka a.s., in the time period from 2000 to 2009 and it estimates the development of client numbers and the numbers of current accounts in 2010. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the offer of current (personal) accounts by the selected banks in accordance to the preferences of individual clients and to assess the significant factors influencing the behavior of the clients concerning bank products and their choice. The thesis is to identify current needs and requirements based upon the results of an interrogatory survey. In the final part of the thesis the results of the interrogation are evaluated, suggestion and recommendations for bank institutes in order to improve the offered services according to the demands and comments from the interrogation are included.
