Vacuum annealing effects on Bi1.8Pb0.2Sr2Ca2Cu3O9.9+yhigh temperature superconductor

Abstract

Abstract The lattice parameters a and c, superconducting onset temperature T c on and volume fraction rate of high T c superconductive phase f s were investigated for the Bi 1.8Pb 0.2Sr 2Ca 2Cu 3O 9.9+ y− δ system. Here y∼0.3 and δ is the amount of oxygen deficiency per chemical formula unit by vacuum annealing. The steep changes of a, c, T c on and f s were observed at 0<δ<0.3, and the f s became zero at δ= δ c ∼1.6. The above experimental results were discussed on the basis of hole donor reduction by the oxygen deficiency.
