Abstract

Abstract BIGD.FOR is designed to calculate mineral-melt partition coefficients for mafic igneous systems ranging from alkali and tholeiitic basalt to andesites and dacites. The building blocks for this program are mineral-melt expressions for olivine, plagioclase, augite, pigeonite, orthopyroxene, spinel (magnetite and chromite), ilmenite, and apatite. The necessary input information is the major element composition of the mineral and melt and temperature. The program is available for both Macintosh or IBM-compatible equipment.
