Abstract

Abstract A computer program that manipulates and displays objects in three dimensions was used to build three-dimensional models of two Italian fifteenth century paintings by Piero della Francesca. The computer graphics models were used to assist in the study of the development of linear perspective in the Italian Renaissance. Computer modelling was applied to The Williamstown Madonna and The Perugia Polyptych Annunciation. The method used to create the models and the resulting observations are briefly discussed.
