Abstract

Abstract Vapour–liquid equilibrium data in the three binary tert-butyl methyl ether + 3,3-dimethyl-2-butanone, 3,3-dimethyl-2-butanone + 2,2-dimethyl-1-propanol, tert-butyl methyl ether + 2,2-dimethyl-1-propanol systems, and in the ternary tert-butyl methyl ether + 3,3-dimethyl-2-butanone + 2,2-dimethyl-1-propanol system are reported. The data were measured isothermally at 320.00, 330.00 and 340.00 K covering the pressure range 12–118 kPa. The binary vapour–liquid equilibrium data were correlated using the Wilson and NRTL equations by means of a new algorithm [see J. Pavlíček, I. Wichterle, Fluid Phase Equilib. 260 (2007) 70–73]; resulting parameters were then used for calculation of phase behaviour in the ternary system and for subsequent comparison with experimental data.
