Abstract

Abstract The process of vacant pore coalescence in single crystals of alkali halide compounds is discussed on the basis of the theory of diffusion disintegration of solid solutions. Temperature ranges are estimated in which the parameters of evolution processes can be described by the known equations for phase nuclei coalescence in case of boundary or diffusion control. The estimates obtained are compared with the experimental data on vacant pore coalescence in NaCl and CsBr.
