Abstract

Abstract Antiarrhythmic drugs play a small but important part in the long-term management of patients following myocardial infarction. Mexiletine, disopyramide and amiodarone seem the three most valuable drugs in this context at present. Indications for therapy are not clearly defined except in patients who are symptomatic or who have repetitive ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation.
