Abstract

Abstract High temperature Raman spectra of Sr 2Bi 4Ti 5O 18 have been investigated. A first order phase transition induced by a soft mode occurs at its Curie temperature. The soft mode is connected with the unstable Bi 3+ion displacement in the perovskite-like layers.
