Abstract

Abstract The main aim of the paper is analysis of two elaborated models describing the flow stress changes of silicon bronzes at deformation below critical strain. The elaborated models make possible not only to determine the flow stress in a wide range of strain rate (0.01–10s −1) and temperature (293–1073K) variability but to take into account the deformation rate history of silicon bronzes with different chemical composition containing until to 6% silicon. Very good correlation between experimental and calculated values was obtained in the whole above mentioned conditions of deformation (relative errors less then ±5%) only by using model which compare the internal state change rates at the same values of strain. This model can be used for optimum design of metal forming processes of silicon bronze from the point of view of efficiency of processes and good quality of products.
