Abstract

Abstract Experimental values of the critical invariant Q = 1.79 ± 0.02 for the upper and O = 1.81 ± 0.02 for the lower critical points in ferroelectric Rochelle salt are presented. The parameter Q is defined as the ratio χ 0/χ m, where χ m is the maximum of the paraelectric susceptibility in non-zero electric field E parallel to the measuring field at temperature T and χ 0 is the susceptibility at the same temperature but for E = 0. The analogy with dynamic susceptibility in zero electric field E is discussed.
