Abstract

Abstract The production of erythropoietin in rats having bilateral splanchnic neurectomy was not significantly different from that in normal control animals or sham-operated rats when subjected to hypoxic hypoxia and bleeding. These findings would indicate that the splanchnic nerves do not modify the normal response of the kidney to these stimuli.
