Abstract

Abstract A simple improvement to the sequential AC/DC power flow algorithm is described. The improvement involves modifying a Jacobian matrix of the fast decoupled power flow algorithm to account for the voltage-dependent reactive power consumption of AC/DC converters. The improved sequential algorithm is capable of finding a power flow solution for weak AC systems where the standard sequential algorithm fails.
