Graphite conduction band states from secondary electron emission spectra

Abstract

Abstract Intensity maxima have been observed in the SEE spectra of graphite excited by low energy electrons. Their energies agree with critical points in the conduction band of a recent band structure calculation. Variation of peak intensities with angle of incidence suggests that excitation takes place by direct interband transitions.
