Abstract

Abstract We explore the problem of an orbitally triple degenerate electronic state coupled with a doubly degenerate vibrational mode, for a molecule within the T d rigid geometrical point group, using exact as well as numerical methods. Franck-Condon overlap integrals are worked out and are displayed as a function of linear coupling parameter. The effect of inclusion of quadratic coupling terms on the eigenvalue and intensity distribution are compared with the linear case.
