Abstract

Abstract A full-scale experiment has provided basic wind load data for a single span ridged roof agricultural building. The results are presented as pressure coefficients for use with the design procedures of the British Standard Code of Practice CP3. Comparisons of measured pressure distributions with those given in CP3 show that for a transverse wind there is a good agreement but for a longitudinal wind the measured loads are markedly lower in magnitude than the Code values other than for the first few metres of roof from the windward end.
