Abstract Germany's Steca Solar, based in Memmingen and recognised as one of the leading manufacturers of solar thermal controllers, will be introducing the first of a new generation of controller, the single loop solar regulator TR030, at this year's ISH. As the first solar controller of its kind, the TR0301's operating status is displayed using an animated graphic of a solar energy circulation system. The systematic use of icons and the clear display layout also ensure that the unit is easy to operate. In view of the TRO301's compact, cost-optimised design and its compliance with international standards, Steca — as a worldwide leader in the photovoltaic charge controller market — is confident that the TR0301 will do exceedingly well in European, North American and Asian markets. In order to meet today's exacting design standards for thermal controllers, the internationally known firm busse design was asked to design the casing. The bus-capable TR0301 offers several additional functions including an evacuated tube collector function, an anti-frost system, a holiday and heat exchange function, as well as the option to display temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Operational safety is ensured by an intelligent error diagnosis system whose multi-coloured LCD background illumination allows for rapid and reliable detection and elimination of errors. The TR0301 controller will be available from specialist dealers this summer. This is a short news story only. Visit www.re-focus.net for the latest renewable energy news.
