Abstract

Summary The results of examination for tick-transmitted protozoon parasites of single blood smears from 550 clinically healthy cattle, and of repeated smears from seven healthy cattle are given. The forms of parasites found are described, and certain abnormalities of the red blood cells noted. The findings are discussed, and it is emphasised that when only a few parasites are found it is necessary to examine more than one smear in order to establish a diagnosis.
