Abstract

Abstract Postpartum haemorrhage is the major cause of maternal mortality in the developing world. This paper presents the incidences and discusses the causes and strategies for its prevention. The paper is based on one originally given at the ICM/WHO/UNICEF pre-congress workshop in Kobe, Japan, Oct, 1990.
