Abstract

Abstract A new method is presented for the calculation of point mobilities at generic multi-plate/beam junctions. Such a junction is considered to consist of an arbitrary number of semi-infinite plates coupled together through a beam, which may also be omitted. Plates and beams are assumed to obey Mindlin and Timoshenko theories respectively. The calculation is based on a numerical wavenumber integration technique. A specially adapted numerical integration technique is used to reduce the amount of numerical calculations to be done. The method is applied to a number of example structures to test its results and to illustrate its application.
