Developing a simple and efficient method for removing organic micropollutants from aqueous systems is crucial. The present study describes the preparation and application, for the first time, of novel MXene-decorated bismuth ferrite nanocomposites (BiFeO3/MXene) for the removal of six sulfonamides including sulfadiazine (SDZ), sulfathiazole (STZ), ...

Low temperature magnetic properties of BiFeO3 powders sintered by flash and spark plasma sintering were studied. An anomaly observed in the magnetic measurements at 250 K proves the clear existence of a phase transition. This transformation, which becomes less well-defined as the grain sizes are reduced to nanometer scale, was described with regard...

A bulk YBa2Cu3O7−δ (Y-123) superconductor synthesized by a thermal treatment method was added with different weight percentages (x = 0.0, 0.2, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 wt.%) of BiFeO3 (BFO) nanoparticle. X-ray diffraction (XRD), alternating current susceptibility (ACS), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) were used to determine the pro...

Bismuth ferrite-based heterojunction composites have been considered as promising visible-light responsive photocatalysts because of their narrow band gap structure; however, the synthetic methods reported in the literature were usually time-consuming. In this study, we report a facile and quick preparation of bismuth ferrite-based composites by th...

This paper presents the results of the synthesis of samarium-doped bismuth ferrite (BFO) nanoparticles by the solution combustion method. The dependence of BFO properties on the amount of the samarium (Sm) in the composition was studied. The synthesized nanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy SEM), X-ray diffractometry (XR...

Ionic engineering is exploited to substitute Bi cations in BiFe0.95Mn0.05O3 NPs (BFM) with rare-earth (RE) elements (Nd, Gd, and Dy). The sol-gel synthesized RE-NPs are tested for their magnetic hyperthermia potential. RE-dopants alter the morphology of BFM NPs from elliptical to rectangular to irregular hexagonal for Nd, Gd, and Dy doping, respect...

Research on advanced materials for environmental remediation and pollutant degradation is rapidly progressing because of their numerous applications. Biochar is an excellent material support for the catalytic activity of bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3), which is one of the best perovskite-based photocatalysts in this work for diverse pollutant degradation...

BiFeO3 is a multiferroic material with a perovskite structure that has a lot of potential for use in sensors and transducers. However, obtaining pure single-phase BiFeO3 ceramic with a low electrical conductivity via solid-state reactions remains a problem that limits its application. In this work, the suppression of secondary phases in BiFeO3 was ...

We observed quasi-elastic light scattering (QELS) in BiFeO3 using Raman spectroscopy over a temperature range of 300–860 K. The QELS has two componenets: narrow and broad ones. The temperature dependence of the intensity and linewidth of the broad component differed below and beyond the Néel point, and the broad QELS may have a magnetic origin.

BiFeO3 (BFO) is a multiferroic material with excellent ferroelectric properties but with poor magnetic behavior. Therefore, we focused principally on the enhancement of the magnetic order of BFO. These multiferroic properties make BFO an excellent candidate for magnetoelectric devices at room temperature. Pure and Co-BiFeO3 powders were successfull...
