The article overviews experimental results obtained by applying internal photoemission (IPE) spectroscopy methods to characterize electron states in single- or few-monolayer thick two-dimensional materials and at their interfaces. Several conducting (graphene) and semiconducting (transitional metal dichalcogenides MoS2, WS2, MoSe2, and WSe2) films ...

In the present study, we have compared the device performance of poly[4,8-bis(5-(2-ethylhexyl) thiophen-2- yl) benzo[1,2-b; 4,5-b'] dithiophene-2,6-diyl-alt-(4-(2-ethylhexyl)-3-fluorothieno[3,4-b] thio-phene-)-2-carb- oxylate-2-6-diyl)] (PTB7-Th): phenyl-C71-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) organic solar cells (OSCs) in an inverted geometry with Zn...

Organic Electronics
The use of appropriate charge carrier transport materials in organic solar cells strongly influences the device performance. In this work, we focused on the molecular electron transport material 1,4,5,8-naphthalene-tetracarboxylic-dianhydride (NTCDA) doped by cesium carbonate (Cs2CO3). We first investigated the electrical properties of such n-type ...

The Review of scientific instruments
We have developed an original Kelvin probe system using an ultrasonic stepped horn sonotrode. This actuator is optimized in order to maximize the velocity of the tip end, and hence to increase the Kelvin current detected. Such development is essential to improve surface potential measurements at small spatial scale.

We have calculated magnetic moments, work functions, and surface energies for several of the most closely packed surfaces of iron, cobalt, and nickel by means of a spin-polarized Green’s-function technique based on the linear muffin-tin orbitals method within the tight-binding and atomic sphere approximations. We find enhanced spin moments at all t...
