Dopamine agonist (DA)-induced impulse control disorder (ICD) in patients with prolactinomas is not sufficiently known. To evaluate the prevalence of DA-induced ICDs and possible risk factors related to these disorders in patients with prolactinoma. This is a cross-sectional multicenter study involving 308 patients with prolactinoma followed up in t...

Oxytocin regulates a range of physiological processes including eating behavior and oxytocin administration reduces caloric intake in males. There are few data on oxytocin and eating behavior in healthy females or on the response of endogenous oxytocin to food intake and its relationship to appetite in humans. To determine the postprandial pattern ...

Compared with placebo, 24 weeks of daily sc abaloparatide increases BMD of the lumbar spine, femoral neck, and total hip in a dose-dependent fashion. Moreover, the abaloparatide-induced BMD increases at the total hip are greater than with the marketed dose of teriparatide. These results support the further investigation of abaloparatide as an anabo...

Context: Bone mass is under strong genetic control, with heritability estimates greater than 50% and is likely determined by complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors.
Objective: The objective of the study was to localize genes contributing to bone mineral density (BMD) variation.
Design: An autosomal genome-wide scan for...

Our study demonstrates hyperadiponectinemia, increased adiponectin HMW isoform, and increased insulin sensitivity in adolescent AN female patients and reversal of these findings with weight rehabilitation. We hypothesize that increased adiponectin levels may have a protective role in maintaining energy homeostasis during extreme malnourishment.

During MTT, vildagliptin augments insulin secretion and inhibits glucagon release, leading to enhanced suppression of EGP. During the postprandial period, a single dose of vildagliptin reduced plasma glucose levels by enhancing suppression of EGP.

We describe four cases of symptomatic pneumocranium, a rare, potentially life-threatening complication of transsphenoidal pituitary surgery. Symptomatic pneumocranium manifested as impaired mental status, headaches, and grand mal seizures, early in the postoperative course after transsphenoidal pituitary surgery. Furthermore, a Cushing response, in...
