Rajaboopathi Mani currently works at Aalto University, Finland. His research interests include synthesis and characterization of bulk and nanomaterials for optical applications. He expertise on crystallizing organic molecular solids (co-crystals, salt and polymorphism) and inorganic solids with ionic charge impact. He uses various tools to probe the structure-property relationship of materials (Non-linear optical crystals, Terahertz (THz) materials and Lanthanide doped inorganic phosphors etc.,). His recent research focuses on Organic Mesocrystals for drug development. In this project, he intrigues non-classical crystallization at the molecular levels with cryo-microscopy.

Effect of Hydrothermal Temperature on the Variance of Fluorescence in Ca2SiO4:Tb3+
Published in Journal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices
Investigating the structural defect and associated impact on the optical properties are essential because different methods are involving in preparation of optical materials for display application. Lanthanide ion doping is a simple structural probing strategy that easy the challenges of identifying the structural defect. Pure and terbium (Tb3+) do...
Multifunctional properties of bio-supramolecular gel with their structural transformation and its applications
Published in Colloids and Surfaces A Physicochemical and Engineering Aspects
Recently, functional coordination polymeric gels have critical consideration due to the touchy to outer substances, tunable morphology and multi-functionalities. Here we report permeable bio-supramolecular gel for multi-functional applications. The morphology of gel was 1D microfibers at pH = 5. It was changed to metal edifices of 2D smaller scale ...
Experimental Study of Effective Mass and Spin–Orbital Energy of the Al2O3/NiO Nanoheterostructure Material
Published in The Journal of Physical Chemistry A
The effective mass of the materials relies on exciton dynamics which is greatly dominated by energy gap of the materials. We examined the effective mass for the Al2O3/NiO nanoheterostructure material through polarization in the dielectric study. The mean optical effective mass was calculated to be mopt* = 5.69645 × 10–20mop/m0 in the UV–visible reg...

Studies on novel co-crystal of 2, 6-diaminopyridinium 4-nitrophenolate 4-nitrophenol.
This article presents the vibrational, mechanical, dielectric and thermal properties of 2, 6-diaminopyridinium 4-nitrophenolate 4-nitrophenol co-crystals (DAP: NP) grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique (SEST). It crystallizes in orthorhombic noncentrosymmetric space group Pna21 with cell dimension a=10.86 Å, b=12.00 Å and c=13.53 Å; α...
