Joined Butantan Institute in 1987 in the Laboratory of Herpetology, as Scientific Researcher. Took over level VI in the career in 2003. From 1994-2000 was Postdoctoral Fellow in the University of Wales, Bangor, UK, in collaboration with the Liverpool Institute of Tropical Medicine and the University of Oxford studying Systematics, Evolution and Ecology of poisonous Snakes from Latin America, using Biotechnology as tool, aiming at snakebite prophylaxis, epidemiology and antivenom Serum Therapy improvement (British Council Fellowship). Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Laboratory of Genetics and Biodiversity, Federal University of Goias, Brazil (PDS - CNPq, 2010-2013), using molecular markers (SSR transferability) to investigate diversity, kinship and reproductive mode in pit vipers (Bothrops), with a view to improving the captive breeding and snake venom production. Trained personel from biological sciences on recognition, identification and diversity of venomous animals, actions of animal venoms and snakebite. Lecturing, coordination and organization of courses and subjects in high school (1982-1985), Higher Education in Biological Sciences (1985-2007), University Extension and Post Graduation activities (1988-2004). Supervision of scientific production of more than 30 undergraduates and graduates. Training procedures for teachers of public and private network school system in the State of São Paulo - Continuing Education Program (USP & PUCSP), Sciences and Biology Education (1998-2000). Publication of about 70 full articles, 7 book chapters, revision and edition of two books, numerous scientific notes and texts in newspapers and magazines. Approval for more than twenty scientific proposal, projects and scholarships at Funding and Support institutions. The interest in neglected diseases prophylaxis besides fieldwork practice on vector proliferation and control in urban areas and the wide laboratorial experience throughout the carrier, resulted in an invitation to join the phase III studies of efficacy and safety of the attenuated tetravalent dengue vaccine in the Division of Clinical Trials and Pharmacovigilance, where has been working since April 2016. The DEN-03-IB is a multicentric study in which Regulatory Affairs, DSMB secretariat, scheduling, controlling, distribution and cool chain monitoring of all Investigational Product, as well as Personal Trainning of Center Staff from all 14 Centers in Brazil are under my responsibility.
