Dr. Norman Goldwasser is a clinical psychologist and researcher with many years of experience. He specializes in healing trauma. He has done a number of researches about the best methods for overcoming trauma-related disorders. Dr Norman Goldwasser ‘s orientation has been cognitive-behavioral psychology, but he is trying to be eclectic and has done a number of researches in other orientations and techniques to suit the needs of each individual client.
For more than 25 years, his focus has been trauma therapy. He is using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) technique with which he helps patients understand and process the ways in which painful or frightening events continue to impact present functioning. He researches the ways of combining cognitive psychology methods and EMDR methods for overcoming issues relating to trauma, anxiety disorders, anger and stress management, personality disorders and addictions.
He is highly educated and has a doctorate in clinical psychology as well as two Master’s Degrees in clinical psychology and in industrial-organizational psychology from the Medical College of Virginia and a Bachelor’s Degree in clinical psychology from the Johns Hopkins University.
