Dave Waetjen received his Ph.D. in Geography from UC Davis in 2011. He has worked for the University for over 10 years, yet the University will only consider it two years since working as a student doesn't count. He is the Center's informatics and web guru, responsible for creating many of the Center's online tools and projects, most notably, the internationally-famous California Roadkill Observation System (http://wildlifecrossing.net/california). His experftise includes programming in various languages, web-informatics, creation and management of very large databases, geographic information systems (GIS), scientific work-flows, server and other hadware management, and technical writing.
