Dr. Ana Maria Abreu Velez is a dermatologist with a Ph.D. in Immunology, and extensive experience in autoimmune skin diseases. Dr. Abreu Velez has three postdoctoral fellowships: in immunodermatology and molecular biology of the skin from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; in immunology from the INSERN in Rouen, France; in clinical trials from the Medical College of Georgia/Georgia Regents University in Augusta, Georgia; and in cancer research, at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Abreu Velez is a diagnostic and research leader in autoimmune skin diseases, with extensive experience performing multiple color immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy. Dr. Abreu Velez has extensive expertise in diagnostic immunodermatology in the USA. Dr. Abreu Velez has also broad expertise in other clinical laboratory techniques, including: immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, ELISA, immunohistochemistry and affinity chromatography. As a leader in her field, Dr. Abreu Velez has written more than 60 publications as a first author, as well as multiple book chapters and monograms. She has served as an editor and/or reviewer for multiple journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Abreu Velez has been invited as a consultant for multiple clinical trials protocols, and to be a mentor for fellows and students. Dr. Abreu Velez also has an extensive experience directly managing clinical trials.

Dr. Ana Maria Abreu Velez is a board certified dermatologist from Colombia, South America with both Ph.D. and Doctor of Science degrees in immunology, and three postdoctoral fellowships; these fellowships included training in all regulatory aspects of clinical trials in the USA and overseas, in autoimmune blistering and rheumatologic diseases and in cancer immunology research. Dr. Abreu is one of the few people in the world with training in basic sciences, clinical trials and the medical field. Dr. Abreu-Velez has a unique expertise combining clinical practice, clinical trials and laboratory research. Dr. Abreu-Velez also has extended experience in developing budgets for new projects, proactively recognizing problems and implementing respective corrective measurements. Dr. Abreu-Velez has the capability to keep regulatory documents up-to-date, she has extensive knowledge in the Bayh-Dole Act and technology transfer. In clinical trials, she has worked with 21 CFR 50.54, and the processes for compliance with Institutional Review Board, informed consent, and medical device, drug and biologic regulations. Dr. Abreu Velez has experience in Phases 1 through 3 of clinical trials. Write case reports, book chapters, original manuscripts, reviews. Also to be editor of several medical scientific journals, reviews, book, atlas of other colleague manuscripts for multiple journals and academic sites. Mentor students, residents, and fellow and help them in their thesis and academic career advances. Other duties include keeping a bank of serum and samples with the respective import permits from the center of Disease control (CDC) and up-to date inform consents. Give lectures, prepare for state and federal audits including CLIA and cooperate with other colleges nationally and internationally.

I was invited with other 30 editors among the best and highly-educated researchers and scientist from all over the world.
