To Avoid Bad Acquisitions and Massive Losses, Let Shareholders Vote!

What do you think are the biggest reasons for such rises and falls in stock prices? There are many factors, but corporate acquisitions have clearly been one of the most detrimental for shareholders, resulting in some of their biggest losses ever. Managers left to act autonomously may take excessive risks, leading to the destruction of value in a large fraction of acquisitions. Dr. Andrea Polo has identified a potential solution in mandatory shareholder voting for large deals: the obligation to seek their approval hugely reduced the risk of these financial disasters.
