Edwige Bonnevie grew up at the start of the space age. All the great events of this period left their mark on her, and she didn’t think twice about pursuing aeronautics. As a member of the second class of France’s Ecole polytechnique to accept women, from the very beginning she knew what it was like to be seen as some kind of “strange creature”… However, far from viewing it as a burden, Edwige Bonnevie always enjoyed the challenge this presented. In fact, human and technical challenges have motivated her throughout her entire career, from aeronautics to nuclear deterrence, to her current role at the head of Risk Control at the French Center for Atomic Studies (CEA).
